Arrival at La Spezia & Transfer to Manarola

Upon arrival at La Spezia station, we’ll quickly transfer to a local train, taking you along the rugged Ligurian coastline to our first stop, the iconic village of Manarola.

First Stop: Manarola

Manarola is a postcard-perfect village, known for its pastel-colored buildings clinging to cliffs and its small, tranquil harbor.

  • Easy Hike with a Guide: For those who enjoy walking, join our guide for an easy coastal hike. The path offers breathtaking vistas, with panoramic views of the Ligurian Sea and the neighboring villages. This leisurely 30-minute walk is suitable for all levels and provides a wonderful opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Cinque Terre.

Second Stop: Vernazza

Next, we head to Vernazza, often considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, with its picturesque harbor and vibrant piazza lined with colorful buildings.

  • Free Time (2h): Spend your time exploring this charming village. Visit the 11th-century church of Santa Margherita d’Antiochia or simply relax by the harbor, watching the small fishing boats bob in the water. Vernazza’s narrow, steep streets are full of character, with local artisan shops offering handmade goods and souvenirs. Or Immerse yourself in Ligurian cuisine with a 1h30m hands-on pesto-making class. Learn how to make the region’s signature sauce using fresh basil, pine nuts, and olive oil. After the class, you’ll get to taste the pesto you’ve prepared. Paired with your meal is a wine tasting experience where you’ll sample Cinque Terre’s famous DOC wines, made from grapes grown on the village’s steep terraces.

Third Stop: Monterosso

Our third stop is Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the Cinque Terre villages and famous for its stunning sandy beaches and vibrant old town.

  • Free Time (1h30m): Wander through Monterosso’s historical center, filled with charming alleyways, quaint shops, and local cafes. If you prefer, take time to relax on the beach and enjoy the sun, or visit the medieval San Giovanni Battista Church. Monterosso is also known for its lemon trees and anchovies, so be sure to sample some local delicacies.

Fourth Stop: Riomaggiore

Our final stop is Riomaggiore, a quintessential Cinque Terre village with steep, colorful houses cascading down to the tiny harbor.

  • Free Time (1h30m): Explore the village’s narrow streets, discover hidden corners, or enjoy a refreshing drink by the sea. Riomaggiore’s setting is dramatic, with tall houses tightly packed between cliffs, creating one of the most photogenic spots in Cinque Terre.
