6:45 am – Depart from Florence
Meet with your tour leader and the rest of the group. Start your day with a scenic 2h30m regional train ride from Florence to La Spezia. As you travel through the picturesque Tuscan countryside, enjoy the rolling hills and charming villages passing by, setting the tone for your adventure to one of Italy’s most stunning coastal regions, Cinque Terre.
Arrival at La Spezia & Transfer to Manarola
Upon arrival at La Spezia station, we’ll quickly transfer to a local train, taking you along the rugged Ligurian coastline to our first stop, the iconic village of Manarola.
First Stop: Manarola
Manarola is a postcard-perfect village, known for its pastel-colored buildings clinging to cliffs and its small, tranquil harbor.
Free Time (1h30m): Stroll through the narrow streets, explore the waterfront, and capture the incredible views of the sea and the hillside vineyards that produce Cinque Terre’s famous wine. Wander around at your own pace, and soak in the beauty of this charming village.
Easy Hike with a Guide: For those who enjoy walking, join our guide for an easy coastal hike. The path offers breathtaking vistas, with panoramic views of the Ligurian Sea and the neighboring villages. This leisurely 30-minute walk is suitable for all levels and provides a wonderful opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Cinque Terre.
Second Stop: Vernazza
Next, we head to Vernazza, often considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, with its picturesque harbor and vibrant piazza lined with colorful buildings.
Free Time (2h): Spend your time exploring this charming village. Visit the 11th-century church of Santa Margherita d’Antiochia or simply relax by the harbor, watching the small fishing boats bob in the water. Vernazza’s narrow, steep streets are full of character, with local artisan shops offering handmade goods and souvenirs. Or Immerse yourself in Ligurian cuisine with a 1h30m hands-on pesto-making class. Learn how to make the region’s signature sauce using fresh basil, pine nuts, and olive oil. After the class, you’ll get to taste the pesto you’ve prepared. Paired with your meal is a wine tasting experience where you’ll sample Cinque Terre’s famous DOC wines, made from grapes grown on the village’s steep terraces.
Third Stop: Monterosso
Our third stop is Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the Cinque Terre villages and famous for its stunning sandy beaches and vibrant old town.
Fourth Stop: Riomaggiore
Our final stop is Riomaggiore, a quintessential Cinque Terre village with steep, colorful houses cascading down to the tiny harbor.
Return to La Spezia

Reccomendations for off summer seasons:
Certainly winter is not the best time to visit the Cinque Terre, which are summer villages and mainly come alive from June until the end of September, however winter is the best time to appreciate the nature, the landscape and the quietness of this magic lands away from the summer crowds.
FOOD & DRINKS From November until March the majority of the shops and local restaurants will close for their annual leave. We recommend to bring a packed lunch
FORECAST In case of rain we recommend you to bring a rain coat due to the wind on the villages and wear warm clothes
LANDSCAPE The paths on the national park due to the often land slides are closed by the local authorities every time is considered to be dangerous for the people.
