Your journey starts with a departure from Rome at approximately 7:30 AM. You’ll be on a fast-speed train heading to Florence for a one-hour and 30-minute ride. Upon arriving in Florence, please make your way directly to the meeting point, a 20-minute walk from the train station. You’ll be greeted there by our guide, who will lead you on an exhilarating trip through Tuscany, starting at 9:45 AM.
Your first destination is a prestigious winery and wine-tasting school located in the heart of Tuscany. Here, you’ll be able to sample 4 distinct types of wines, including the renowned Chianti Classico, Brunello of Montalcino, and Super Tuscan wines. Additionally, you’ll taste a 30-year-old balsamic vinegar and savor the delightful truffle extra virgin olive oil. This experience is designed to be enjoyable as you learn to distinguish between various flavors under the guidance of a passionate wine producer. Rest assured, this is a stress-free environment without any tests or note-taking.
Next, you’ll visit another extraordinary winery famous for producing the D.O.C.G. Vernaccia white wine. This winery boasts a stunning location with views of the iconic towers of San Gimignano. During your visit, the winemakers will take you on a tour of the vineyards and cellars, sharing insights into the wine and oil production process. You’ll also discover the art of pairing wine with food. Here, you’ll enjoy tasting 3 wines: the celebrated Vernaccia white wine, a rosé, and a Chianti colli senesi D.O.C.G. This visit also gives you the chance to purchase local products and wines at excellent prices, whether for yourself or as gifts for friends and family.
In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore SAN GIMIGNANO, a stunning medieval town known for its narrow streets, local shops, and tower-filled skyline. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy ice cream from a world-champion gelateria. Your tour leader will provide maps and recommend the best spots to visit in the town.
We will arrive back in Florence at approx 5:00 pm** – Back to Rome by 8-8:30 pm**
